That it is, but there is probably considerable time their employees put in to doing the iterative translation.

This looks like it would make for a fun open source project. The process and techniques of such a language translator have much in common with my disassembler--both are just finite automata with a little human help (the iterative translation part).

My time is limited for the forseeable future, but if someone would care to collaborate, contact me offline and we'll see what we can do to get started. Please put '8052' in the subject line so my anti-spam software won't eat your email.
