#147682 - Rabbit stuff Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Rabbit supply the tcp/ip software stack as part of their 'dynamic c' package. The older boards used a RTL8019 ethernet chip, but I'm not sure if their newer chips have the ethernet chip built in. Whilst you don't need ethernet to use tcp/ip, you most likely need tcp/ip with ethernet to do anything useful. There are plenty of other products out there that don't tie you into their software. Whilst the Rabbit product is good and will get you up and running fast, you get tied into their 'dynamic c' framework which isn't kosher 'c' so to port your code elsewhere is a bit of a pain. |
