#145431 - Can anyone explain why... |
I was looking at the artwork on a Dell PC motherboard and noted some rather bizarre traces. What caught my eye was numerous locations where a single trace would zig-zag back and forth eight or nine times then go straight for several centimeters and repeat the process in some cases 3 or four times before entering a via or component. One particular trace actually spells out the letters CEJ, then goes off back and forth. I get the feeling the CEJ is sort of an "Easter Egg" but am at a loss to explain the extreme length of some of these traces. I have also seen this on IBM motherboards. Anyone have a clue? Maybe some type of very short delay?
