#144324 - scaling
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Sometimes a more suitable scaling constant can be found, e.g. powers of two.

In some applications the FP operations can be replaced by suitably chosen tables, e.g. if there is a limited number of possible inputs and/or outputs.

I might be wrong in both points.
