#142619 - Mainboard type Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The mainboard is a four year-old Asus A7N8X deluxe (Socket A). Oddly enough, it is still running stable, apart from one emergency shutdown due to CPU overheating (I had not cleaned the CPU heatsink in two years, and the amount of dust on it was amazing). However, the VCore voltage seems to be slightly high (1.72V instead of 1.65V), which might be caused by the faulty capacitors.
Otherwise it sounds like time for a new PC! Already bought one (I had planned to do so some time later this year anyway). However, I still have the graphics card lying around, and it would be a shame not to use it. Unfortunately, it's an AGP card, so it won't fit in newer mainboards. |
