Erik, I know that this is not what you wanted to discuss, but if we take literally your initial post - if you are overwhelmed with administrative work and cannot get any real work done, you might
perhaps want to get a good secretary... :-)

Or, why not, somebody who could help you with part of the work (e.g. is good in design but does not know the details nor is he good in debugging), but would also be able to ease the burden of the administrative work; so you both would simply share part of both of those works.

You might also want to have somebody who is devoted to your company even if not the brightest guy around, rather than somebody who is a pure genius but is not able to sit at a single chair for long enough to finish a longer job, or cannot cooperate with the rest of the company. But this again depends on the nature of the work to do.

Life is not black and white (not technicolor either :-) )...
