It comes with a 8 Mhz xtal. I'll probably try a 11.059 for easy serial baud rates. I have some chips that will clock to 33Mhz, and a ED2 that claims it can go 60Mhz on internal memory, but I can't imagine needing to go that fast. If I come up with a need for speed later, I'll make a pcb myself. I would certainly expect to find trouble somewhere above 12Mhz. This board has a full compliment of widgets, a push button & LED on every I/O line, SPI interfaced DAC & ADC, LCD headers, and port extension headers. All kinds of extra capacitance hiding in this board, even if you don't use the devices. Rob |
