But why can this damned manufacturer not wait until he knows what his chip does in detail??
if the chip is to be produced at multiple fabs e.g. one with 'good enough' lithography and another with 'superb' lithography. Then if the first thousands/millions of chips are produced at the location with 'superb' then manufacturer will not have any idea how the value will be when the chip is produced with 'good enough'. If an important parameter is TBD se below. NOW, if the TBD is an 'excuse' for possibly using (later) a fab that is NOT 'good enough' the language to describe such an action can not be posted in this 'family friendly' forum. Erik |
