Another technique i've seen for distance measurement using millmetric frequencies is the carrier is modulated using a sawtooth waveform. The modulation is at around 100khz. This is using a gun diode based module with an inbuilt mixer. Therefore all processing is done at fairly low frequencies rather than at the carrier freq. When I spoke of 'period' I was referring to the period between the pulse of signal being and and the pulse beibg received - ie the 'time of flight'. |
