DC has resistive losses.
Westinghouse showed AC transmits better over distance.
Has this changed?

yes
"DC has resistive losses" same as AC at the same voltage, AC also have inductive and capacitive losses.
AC when transformed up transmits better over distance.

Evidently someone figured out a way to handle HV DC and thus got DC "transformed up" so, now DC which has no inductocapacitive losses can be "transformed up".

I heard about this some time ago, do not know how it is done, but they DO use DC now.
