#129582 - Thanks Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Thanks for your positive comments, Ralph. I'm not surprised that many old-timers/experienced engineers don't have my book. Once you master something, it's certainly not necessary to acquire every new book that comes out on the subject. As an engineer, I only received one book on the 8051, and that was second-hand. I never bought a book on the 8051 until recently, and that was just to look at some other popular 8051 books to see if there's something else I should include in a future edition.
I've found that it's definitely one thing for someone to buy a book and quite another for them to bother commenting on it. I can understand that. I have a number of books and I've never bothered to post comments on the book. Now that I've published a book, I do recognize that feedback is useful to the author--either to feel he has done a good job or in order to improve the next edition. But I'm not at all surprised that there is very little public commentary on it. It's always nice to see a positive comment on the message forum or in Amazon.com reviews, though, so thanks!
