You have to avoid that situation. However if it helps, you can have more than one node transmit messages with the same ID, providing there is no data. However that won't result in an error frame.
For a redundant master situation, why not have the current master transmit a heartbeat, which the backup master monitors? If the heartbeats stop then the backup master takes over. If the first master recovers then it can act as the new backup, monitoring the heartbeats of the other. Andy |
