#129171 - What is good? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Just about all the PLC's on the market are 'fit for purpose' - otherwise they wouldn't sell. I've used the Telemechanique(Schneider) 'TWIDO' range of units - these are small and have RS485 MODBUS as the protocol. For ethernet, I use the ADAM4572 ethernet to RS485 modbus converters. As the others have mentioned, PLCs don't program in 'c' - ladder logic for the smaller ones like the TWIDO. You can reprogram the flash micro in these units and have them do whatever you want. Pretty much, if your application only needs a few i/o to control some switches and relays, PLCs are the go for a quick and reliable solution. |
