What is a good PLC?
The cheapest that will do the job, this in not pantyhose. When I did PLCs I used 3 brands each for their purpose. I would also like to program them using C. Then it would not be a PLC, but a "control circuit". PLCs are programmed in "ladder logic" I know that the definition "PLC" is becoming more and more abused, I have seen devices that no typical PLC user would know what to do with called PLCs. A personal thought would be that what is misnamed PLC most often is somebodys attempt to get into the PLC market with a non-PLC and by misnaming it a PLC the possibility exist that some poor sod that would not know what to do with a non-PLC would buy it.
