John, I'm glad you were able to use hints from my code. Sometimes looking at other people's code confuses the issue - you are normally better off to start with the specification, then look at other people's code to see how they solved the problem. I started off by downloading lots and lots of large implementations of the modbus protocol and I was trying out a ring buffer, but your piece of code did the trick and it was cool to implement it in the Renesas R8C/Tiny, they have software interrupts, (just like the DOS INT,in those days) Would you agree that after the fact that it is quite simple to implement Modbus? I think so. And now I can modernise my products! Regards, John. |
