If not relying on an overly strict definition of "data memory", Andy's statement is in fact completely true. Absolutely: mine is a completely generic definition - it is not at all strict! I am simply taking the words "data" and "memory" literally - without any implied 8051-speicifc or other meanings. Thus a serial EEPROM can, obviously, be used as a "memory" in which to store "data" - in other words, it can be used as a "data memory" in the generic, non-specifc sense. |
