#127537 - fundamental flaw?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I am in the process of designing a Mains Harmonic Analyser,

in my application I dont intend to change any hardware.

I thought you said you were designing this thing?

I want to do it all digitally.

Time to read-up on digital filters, then!

I have 500 instantaneous values over a cycle. i can compute RMS value of signal

The RMS value that you calculate here will be for the fundamental plus all the harmonics

then using this RMS value caculate 500 instantaneous values of pure sine wave.

See above - how do you propose to deduce the sinewave, unless you already know exactly what the harmonic content is?
And if you do already know exactly what the harmonic content is, isn't that the job done anyhow??
