Sorry, but I just realized that I am wrong about ANL. It should be ORL.

Oh well! I'll see if I still have time to edit my original post.

Follow up: I've edited my post to state that ORL direct, #data will set an arbitrary bit, and ANL direct, #data will clear them. These are normal bit-masking logical operations that aren't quite so second nature that I can write intelligently about them too early in the morning.
