#126443 - FPSLIC?

You might have mentioned Triscend->Zylogic on the '51 hardcore line.

Rather than the Off-topic (AVR-based) FPSLIC.

Does anyone know how the FPSLIC compares to the Triscend/Zylogic?

To me, the key functional difference (apart from AVR vs 8051) seems to be just that the FPSLIC is reconfigurable on-the-fly?

From a designer's prespective, the Triscend/Zylogic offering seems to be aimed at users with no FPGA experience (in particular, no VHDL/Verilog experience); whereas the FPSLIC assumes this?

I think the full Triscend tool cost was less than a Keil licence (half?), but a full FPSLIC licence is an order of magnitude greater?
The Triscend free "Evaluation" licence lasted indefinitely, but I think the FPSLIC licences are all time-limited?

I'm not sure what the level of support from Atmel is like for the FPSLIC. I attended an AVR Seminar at Atmel's UK offices shortly after the demise of Triscend, and nobody there really knew anything about the FPSLIC!
Atmel don't really seem to be pushing the FPSLIC?

Triscend also had an ARM-based version - I haven't seen anything from Atmel about an ARM-based FPSLIC-equivalent?
