It seems that those nice people at FTDI have just anounced some really clever-looking USB Host chips:
http://www.vinculum.com They even have a little module that lets you plug a USB memory stick into one end, a microcontroller's UART into the other end, and presto! it even handles all the FAT filesystem for you! http://www.vinculum.com/prd_vdrive1.html doesn't seem to be available to buy in their shop yet, though :-( |
