#125699 - Pumps ?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

The motor will be driving a pump, which would be pumping out chemicals.

Omar,
Thats a terrible thing to do with a stepper ! A little DC + gearbox would be much better. Are these peristaltic pumps ? Where are you getting the mechanisms for them from ? We have a UK source for a new project of our own, with good pricing.

Steppers consume a lot of power when idle, and if you drop sync, you'll STILL need feedback to tell.

How many pumps are running at once ? WHy not clutch and declutch the drive to each pump with a wrap-spring clutch from a line shaft etc etc.

Drop me a line and I'll send you a phone number if you want to talk motor systems.
