Thanks all,

I will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge,

That's tricky with steppers. Why not use DC motors ?

Steve

It is again related to price, I also had samples of DC motor but with DC motor I have to use an encoder or anyother feedback device that is cheaper than encoder, Cheaper stuff have their own down sides as mounting, controlling becomes an issue, if it was few motors per annum than I can live with it but for around 3000 motors per annum I doubt my production department will approve that.

I would suggest you prototype your machine with 'off the shelf' equipment then get someone to come up with a custom solution - otherwise you'll be trying to solve multiple problems at once

I agree with you, and I have been looking around for driver card which control more than one motor atleast. I have not found anything, well I have but for price ranging from £800.00 to £1000.00 , It would be great if you can suggest something which you have come across.

s http://www.cnczone.com they have several different fora, so find the ones concerning steppers. Do you know how big a stepper you will need? What kind of a load are you going to have?

Yes, I know. The motor specs are as follows

Torque = 0.2 Nm
speed = 1000rpm
Voltage = 24VDC
But size can not exceed 45mm dia and 70mm length.

The motor will be driving a pump, which would be pumping out chemicals.

Thanks for the list Erik but there is none from UK in the above list.

A colleague and I have built a number of successful systems involving stepper motors (he designed the hardware; I wrote the code). The only glitch is that we're in the US.

I appreciate your assistance Russ but I am afraid I would like to have face to face training. As I have been struggling for quite some time with these motors so now I am absolutly exhausted and would like to get to the bottom of this by having proper guidance and training.

Regards
Omar
