There is a vast difference between knocking up a one-off demo like that and making a scalable, reliable, deployable system that can be fitted in any combination of slot machines that your potential customers might care to mention. And that's just the embedded bit - then there's developing the "server" end of it that receives & collates all the information and presents it in a useful way to the customer. I have worked on this kind of stuff, and the devil is very much in the detail. You can very easily burn 200 grand and end up with something that nearly works, but isn't quite reliable or scalable enough, and doesn't give the customers what they want. |
