#119880 - Winter?!?! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Salaam Mahmood and Hi Ian,
I lived in Dallas, TX for a dozen years. When we moved here I said that I'd been waiting eight years for winter. In Dallas winter is the week between Christmas and New Years Day. The other seasons in Dallas are "not hot," "hot," and "too hot." Mahmood, I know this is a big assumption on my part, but if you are Muslim you really should either use a compass or ask someone who knows (and that you trust not to have a lark at your expense) which way is East (or more specifically Mecca since you're more North than West from Mecca). At the University of Texas at Dallas, I found a young Muslim man saying his prayers just outside the back door to my lab (in a service corridor) one day. He had been doing so daily for a week before I saw him, blissfully unaware that he'd been facing North the whole time. My point is that you shouldn't count on being able to see the sun to tell. Good luck with your studies Mahmood, and your weather Ian (your weather sounds alot like the coastal weather back where I grew up in Southwest Louisiana), Joe |
