#119377 - Does size matter? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Do you have a particular reason to ask this, or is it just one of those "I wonder..." questions?
The number of instructions in the instruction set is one of those numbers that's easy to quote on marketing fliers, but very difficult to associate any useful meaning to it! Just because one processor has more (or less) instructions than another, does that make it "better"? Or "worse"? Is there, in fact, anything useful at all that can be deduced from these numbers other than that one is bigger than the other?! Maybe the one with more instructions just has loads of virtually useless ones... |
