They were hand-built by little Mexican ladies in sweatshops, who went blind threading tiny wires through teensy ferrite cores. It must have been like assembling PCB's using 0201 cap's.
They came on big cards with a vast array of little cores. Access times were on the order of 1.5 microseconds. Plated wire was faster! RE |
