#116540 - How do they clean out your bank account? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
OK, the scammer gets your bank account number - but how do they actually get any money out of it?
We regularly receive direct deposits into our bank account from numerous overseas clients and regularly email our account number to new potential customers. The business manager at our bank says that this is a safe practice as no-one is able to withdraw funds from our account - only deposit them. To be safe, we keep a separate account for incoming funds and regularly move the received funds to our regular account. This keeps the "publicized" account balance close to zero. Regards, Bert |
