#115990 - You may be disappointed Responding to: ???'s previous message |
So little of what "internet stuff" I've read in the last decade has been well-written. complete, and entirely correct, that I seldom rely on what I find on web sites.
If you have any question about that, just look for information about the PC parallel port, which is thoroughly documented in the literature, and was so prior to the popularization of www due to removal of restrictions on commercial activity in '95. Just try to find a definition of Manchester Coded data. I've found that more sites contradict the ieee standard than agree with it. Wickipedia is even less correct than the Brittanica. Look at what's been published about LCD's, for example. Look at the assertions about the PC parallel port in that context. I've found more web-published algorithms incorrect than I've found correct ones. If it's backed by the name of the author and that author is backed by a device manufacturer, the odds of correctness are good. If not, you're on your own. RE |
