#115852 - Got that earlier!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Andy,
I downloaded that file earlier. I haven't looked too heavily at it apart from loading it with debug and getting an 'out of memory' error. There are some strings in there, but there's a lot of code or something in that file - it being about 700k methinks. The next thing is knowing what cpu its for - I can't say I'm up to speed with ARM or MIPS machine code! I'm pretty sure its not 8051 - I can't find the start with 0x02!

A trick many of the 32bit based ASICs do is copy the code from flash to SDRAM for speed - my dvd player does this. I've 'scoped the the flash bus and it only comes alive on bootup. Another little thing my dvd player has is pads on the pcb for jtag and labelled as such. Is there any standardised registers on jtag that tell you an id code or something? I've not had to play with jtag (except to download code to cplds and fpgas).
