I saw this posted on comp.arch.embedded, and went: hmmm.

Now I see it here, verbatim. I call bullshit. Gary, what's your association with this "buyextras" website?

Anyways: why make your end users go through the hassle of having an extra cable, or two, since USB allows devices to be self-powered and RS-232 doesn't.

Let's not forget that even full-speed USB is a heckuva lot faster than serial.
