Not saying he should do it, just that there are benefits to screens. Screens in transformers are extremely effective, not only in mains transformers but especially in audio transformers! Many years ago I have seen an audio input transfomer containing two individual screens, to be connected to two different grounds. This audio transformer provided a common mode rejection which cannot be achieved even by using the latest rocket sience chips! It's a mess, that in the course of development of digital electronics many of the brilliant analog methodes and tricks more and more fall into oblivion! Kai |
