sometimes the voltage drop is important, sometimes the heat, sometimes the speed, sometimes ... This is why I quantified my question by saying that the on resistance doesn't matter and that the current requirements are quite low. Obviously there are many factors in choosing the right solution. However, in my case I have frequently seen MOSFETs used for a similar (exact?) application as mine, so much so that I have questioned my use of a BJT for this. I cannot question what decisions others made, but knowing that I'm not crazy helps me make my own decision. Bruce |
