#112089 - It's just another component Responding to: ???'s previous message |
All of these things are just electonic components. Whether it's a resistor or a Pentium, you have to know what it is and how to use it before you can rely on being able to apply it. In most cases it doesn't matter which MCU you choose.
If you only need a few signals and there's a small-package part that meets your needs then that ought to be what you choose. However, if there are tools issues within your organization, that can make a difference. You can't create reliable applications until you're thoroughly familiar with your components. You have to be absolutely certain that your resistors are of the right value and power, and of the right type. You also have to be certain that your MCU is capable of doing exactly what you need and that you can program it to do exactly what you need. That's why it's sometimes easier to use one MCU rather than another. Sometimes the only difference is cost, or power consumption, or package type. In those cases you'll base your choice on the most important characteristics. Most often, however, it's been cost and availability, in my case. Maybe yours is different. RE |
