I agree with what most members are saying that it does not make sense to learn new microcontroller unless you need it for certain engineering job.
But are their any great differences with 89c2051 from the 8051? I basically use 89c4051 because increased flash memory. For a small job I would use the 89c2051. I try never use 8051 40 pin part when ever I can use the 89c2051 in place. Are their any pitfalls to using the 89c2051 that I should know about. For me unless I needed a great deal of I/O ports I use 89c2051. Also I can use 5v or 3v source depending on the type being used. Also what is normal learning curve in time to learn 8051 core in years? I see threads where some new engineers can't even write basic assembler code. My last comment is why should I learn assembler first before C code and when should I use both? Best reguards, Ralph Sack |
