#112022 - code protection a warning. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As I very nearly found out to my cost this weekend code protection doesn't only cover protecting the code when it is in the product but also when you are sharing development files with other people over the internet. For the second time in as many months a web based email provider has show fundamental lapses in security with multiple undelivered ( redirected?) emails files taking five days to reach the intended recipient for no apparent reason and so on.All this brings home to me the fact that you should never send files with any value either to yourself or your business over the internet without some form of secure communications. Personaly i now always use the latest version of pgp from http://www.pgpi.org its freeware open source and it means that the bad things can happen to my email and I don't have to worry about it. |
