the document you need at the time? Some names for particular documents have no meaning, "Doc4852.pdf" or "ap-3.pdf" have no meaning. I too organize my datasheets in mostly the same manner. I'm just now including an HTML index in the root directory that includes: Manufacturer> catagory> applications, an original link, decription and file date. Then I link via shortcuts in separate project directories (folders) as required. The description is going to be a key asset in this as far as searching is concerned.
