Statistics are all to do with populations - not individuals. Statistics just tell you that 99.9% (or whatever) of hard drives will not fail before the PC is junked - they do not tell you whether you are one of the unlucky 0.1% who will suffer a failure. :-( Of course, none of this is of any help to you at this precise moment - but that's statistics for you, I'm afraid. :-( |
