#188432 - File compare Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'm sorry I can't be sure of the details now. The differences were small (only a few bytes) and the functionality seemed the same but it niggled that I couldn't be sure what was happening. It was a cause for concern and part of our case for rewriting the whole thing in C51 but it never happened.
My recollection was that it affected the order the modules were fitted together by the linker and this made actual file compare pointless. I found it interesting but wasn't allowed to spend much time on it. I think I found that jump instruction types were sometimes different but it was a long time ago and even then I think Intel wasn't supporting it. |
