The concept certainly seems like it would work just fine for a closed environment where you have control over all the equipment and how it gets used. That should be just great for a personal application.
The concept falls apart when you start thinking "maybe I can make this into a product". At that point the incompatibility with other manufacturers equipment gets to be an extreme issue. This demonstrates what standards are all about in the first place. Michael Karas |
