#185919 - MIDI through rs485 |
Hello...
I like very much to build devices with MIDI and DMX support, (both in same device but not used in same time). I was thinking if there is some problem to send/received MIDI data using the rs485, same as the DMX, same cable, same conector, same transceiver. I see many advantages, It is getting very hard get MIDI conectors, specially the female, rs485 is easier to link, cables can be longer, easier to conect all devices together, less conectors on my devices, my older devices can be compatible with this with only a reprogram. Of course, for conventional MIDI devices would be needed an interface (maybe the same used transceiver SN75176 could be used). What do you think about this? Thank you. |
