Hmm...the NXP datasheet is telling me that to run the 74HC1G14GW is going to cost at most 10uA, and then I lose another 1uA to input leakage current. That seems okay against the 160uA I'm already spending by running the AT89C51AC2 controller in power down mode. Yeah, that's actually a good option for this situation, as the super tiny surface mount packages are just what is required. Thanks for the very valuable advice, guy's.
