I use SP232 (MAX232) with internal 5k ohm resistors on RS232 side. So, is it a right way to put 2k ohm resistor on the other side of the cable into the Canon9 connector? yes, i think. Input impedance will be > 1k, which is needed by RS232 standard. In my opinion, one-side disconnected RS232 cable can work as an antenna. So adding a resistor on the other side of the cable can make it less noise sensitive. Is it true?
yes , i think , but ask Yourself - what signals catches that 'antenna'? i think it is more likely cross-talk between RX and TX wires . So better cable is recommended too. or just disconnect cable from converter, not only from PC. regards |
