Thank both of you very much for your replies... I will post the schematic as soon as possible. I have it in another computer.
The converter is not powered from PC port, it has its own power source and it is fully transparent for software (only RXD, TXD and GND signals are used). Input of HC4538 comes from SP232 TTL/CMOS output so it is not floating and it works as "drive enable" as Stefan mentioned. In my opinion, one-side disconnected RS232 cable can work as an antenna. So adding a resistor on the other side of the cable can make it less noise sensitive. Is it true? My scenario is the second one. I use SP232 (MAX232) with internal 5k ohm resistors on RS232 side. So, is it a right way to put 2k ohm resistor on the other side of the cable into the Canon9 connector? Thank you very much... Regards |
