#182559 - Use single SRAM chip by tying PSEN to RD?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
As far as I'm aware, isn't it possible to use a single SRAM chip as both data and code space if you use an AND gate to tie the PSEN and RD lines together, since they're both active-low? I've read something about using it like that, and it's supposed to be able to work because there will never be an instance where both PSEN and RD are going low at the same time. That way an 8051 can read its opcodes from the SRAM, but also be able to execute MOVXs to that same SRAM chip.
