For MCUs of this type further discussion is futile until you get the detailed data sheet from the manufacturer. There are so many non standard hardware interfaces and peripherals on chips such as this flat panel display controller that one can never be sure anything is anyway near standard. Timer 2 may be allocated (or allocatable) for any number of special purposes on these specialty devices.
