I try as much as I can to stay away from the word 'debug' since to a part of the population it means simualtion Yes, it is sad that common misunderstandings like this so often prevent us from using terms correctly. :-( I guess there is also an amount of confusion between the debug facilities (whatever we call them) on the target, and the "Debugger" front-end software/user-interface on the host... I still think calling it 'emulation' is clearer that "on chip debug" I take your point, but we'll have to agree to differ here. if you, or someone else has a short word/phrase that does not include 'debug' (which many will misunderstand) I'm not sure that I can. |
