ok, so I found the solution(just as I though, a day before I gotta hand over the project), just though I ought to post it in case someone ever stumbles on the same issue (Which isnt written in the datasheet).
the unsigned before the char xdata definition messed up the information I got. seems like it cant distinguise the sign bit and it messes everything up. so with that, I guess this thread is done. thank you all for your invaluable assistance... and a special thanks for you David for putting up with me and explaining everything in detail.
