One of the problems with solderless breadboards is that they are so fragile, i.e. the circuits built on them are easily disturbed

Further, people using them seldom take the physical parameters of the breadboard, i.e. adjacent contact capacitance, resistance, inductance, etc.
I agree, but disagree as to relevance for detecting a pushbutton
