Yes, Digikey is great for samples (2/3 labor day delivery), but they charge U$100 for handling and freight to Argentina (by courrier-regular mail is very slow and quite bureaucratic). Also, as orders are less than U$S 1000, Fedex bring the things door to door, paying customs taxes at home.
For production I will check with the local representative and/or other local part supplier we use to buy from. Surely cost is lower, and we get locally usable invoices, credit, etc. Summarizing, availability is not an issue here (unless cost is in the first place of the list). Daniel |
