#171647 - Questions about Silabs |
Dear members,
For different reasons (mainly local price and availability) I have been stuck to Atmel and, for some applications, to Maxim-Dallas. Searching for a MCU with SPI, 3.3V, UART and some other features, I found lots of parts from Silabs that meet (exceed) my new requirements. My question #1 is connected with programming. I have not worked with JTAG. I understood that, for in-circuit programming, using RS-232/JTAG adapter and Silabs flash programming PC software, I can program any of these MCUs, providing adequate connection to the four JTAG pins (and Vcc/Gnd). Is my asumption correct? And question #2 is more "subjective" and is related to Silabs products' quality and expected life. What is the general/particular opinion about these MCUs? Thank you in advance Daniel |
